I got called into the hospital the other night while on call to attend a delivery that had "yellow amniotic fluid"...the obstetrician said it wasn't meconium, but the nurse wanted me to be there. The mom is a multip and I end up missing the delivery as the baby comes out crying. Boo...wasted drive in. But it was my favorite Obs on call...so I ask if she'd have a scan to do an ultrasound for me, for fun.
This was my second ultrasound, and I was 12weeks. My last ultrasound was 2 weeks ago and it's AMAZING how much the fetus has developed in just a short time. It looks like a miniature baby!! So cute! Head, torso, spine, hands and feet with all the bones. And it bounced in uterus! Bounced! Very cool. And I saw the heart beat again. They can't see anatomy in much detail, but she said that the nuchal was not thickened. yay!
I walked out with 2 patients waiting to be seen in the ER, but I walked out feeling really happy.
