Life's been busy the last few days. I went out on another medevac flight. The nurse insisted a "pediatrician" come. And the paramedic wanted me to come in case they needed to put in a chest tube because he doesn't know how to do one. Great!
By the way, a chest tube insertion is a procedure I have only seen once or twice done in adults. But sure! I'll give it a whirl. After all, I've got some step by step instructions in a handbook.
Really, the kid was fine, and didn't even need oxygen.
Now that I've been to 2 remote communities, Iqaluit seems so big! When I first arrived in Iqaluit, I thought, this is an AIRPORT! It's the tiniest thing! But when I came back on the medevac and landed, I thought for a second that I was in Ottawa or something cuz the runway had so many lights!! haha.
There's been a couple of interesting cases that I've worked up as much as I can and transferred to Ottawa. There really is so much independence here. I also need to cut down the amount of notes I write and re-write and the transfer notes I type up with way too much detail.
And yes, Pilates, I went with my room mates to a class offered at the local gym (first lesson free). I am so sore in wierd places now.
